Dear AK RADIO Listeners,
I congratulate each and every one of you for the New Hegira Year, month of Muharram and Ashura Day. With my very sincere feelings, I wish that this Day of Ashura, which is the beginning of new blessings and happiness, be an opportunity for the material and spiritual cleanliness of the believers, for the salvation of our country and the mankind, and for the attainment of the affection, comfort and peace for all.
The month of Muharram and the Day of Ashura have a significant place in our belief history. The 10th day of Muharram, which is the Day of Ashura, is also a holy day in the history of religions. Historical sources state that many important and affirmative events took place on many of the prophets’ lifes’. On this day, our beloved Prophets and their followers were saved from big difficulties, oppressions, and constraints. They have gained new and pleasant beginnings and great divine favors in their lives.
Dear AKRA listeners, we have reached a very blessed day in a very blessed month. Our beloved Prophet described the month of Muharram as the “Month of Allah.” He also stated that the fasts that are the most valuable after Ramadan was held during this month. He mentioned the rewards would be thirty folds compared to the other times. He told the good news that fasting on the day of Ashura will be expiation for the offenses committed in the preceding year. But, to emphasize our difference from the Jews and Christians who used to fast on the Day of Ashura, He recommended fasting on this day including a day before or after the day of
Ashura.
We should comply with the recommendations of the Prophet and appreciate the Day of Ashura in the best way. We should pay attention to our obligatory and voluntary worships. We should fast. With our all behaviors, we should reflect the beauty of these days to our environment. We should visit our friends, neighbors, mosques, the graves of our elderly, our parents, and relatives. We should make plenty of Ashura sweets, which are a heritage from our ancestors to us, and offer them to our friends and relatives. We should develop our ties of affection and friendship. We should find the ways to do favor and be helpful to everybody without any discrimination, and to develop the good moral. We should not forget to do goodness, to pray, and provide a helping hand for the needy. We should give charities and ask for good things for one another.
We should not neglect our spouses and children. In compliance with the Sunnahs of our beloved Prophet, we should get them beautiful gifts and please their hearts. According to our beloved Prophet, these gifts provide abundance for our home and increase our happiness. Our home is being in abundant throughout the year.
Dear AKRA listeners, I offer my most beautiful and sincere good willings and wishes to you. I hereby remind, wish and desire that you may appreciate the Day of Ashure suitable to its principles and soul, (which is the beginning of many blessings and salvations), pleasant and happy days, to beautify your moral ethics, develop your ties of affection and friendship, be firmly tied to orders of our lofty Creator and Sunnahs of our beloved Prophet.
May the peace, mercy and blessings of Allah be with you.
